BackMr Moxon Wins Silver Award for Outstanding New Teacher in a Secondary School
Secretary of State for Education, Gillian Keegan, visited Chiswick School on Thank A Teacher Day to celebrate the achievements of its teachers. In particular Zac Moxon, who was presented with a prestigious award by an array of VIPs including Sharon Hague, the Managing Director of Pearson Qualifications, and the Mayor of Hounslow. Students from Chiswick and Cavendish School were among the welcoming party and enjoyed greeting the Secretary of State.
Zac Moxon, Head of Music, was selected from thousands of nominations to win a Pearson National Teaching Silver Award. Zac was honoured with the Silver Award for Outstanding New Teacher in a Secondary School for his commitment to changing the lives of the children he works with every day.
Zac’s commitment to the local community, inclusion and providing high-quality lessons to his pupils shone through for the awards judges. His win was cemented by positive feedback from parents, colleagues and pupils alike. He has now been shortlisted to win one of just 16 Gold Awards, which will be announced and celebrated at a gala ceremony in London on 25 November and televised on the BBC, with winners showcased on The One Show.
Zac was delighted at winning the award saying “It was such a surprise to win a silver award and I am very honoured. It is wonderful working with such a brilliant group of students, staff and parents and putting music at Chiswick School on the map.”
