Sports Day 2023

Sports day at Chiswick School is a very special event which creates many fantastic memories for the Chiswick Students and this year's sports day was no different. Even the rain could not dampen the Chiswick students spirit.

The rain arrived at 9.30am just after the relay races had taken place and this meant the remaining events had to move inside for the rest of the day. This is the first time in over 10 years that sports day has had to move indoors. The classic indoor events continued such as table tennis and high jump whilst shot put and long jump were adapted and continued indoors. After a quick transformation, the sports hall was turned into the indoor race track. The students ran 100m, 200m and 300m races indoors using the turning boards and the 800m became a longer team relay event.

Each form continued to cheer and support with great energy whilst indoors as each point mattered to their team. The students did not let the rain ruin their competitiveness and comradery with plenty of good sportsmanship on show. Every student took part in an event which provided their form with points.

The final winners for each year group were as follows:

  • Year 7 - Chatsworth
  • Year 8 - Blenheim
  • Year 9 - Grove
  • Year 10 - Chatsworth

The students were brilliant throughout and they should be very proud with how they dealt with the weather and the changing events.
