Across this half-term we have held Spelling Bee finals in Years 7-9 for the winners of the intra-tutor group competitions of the Autumn term. All three finals were hotly contested by our spelling aficionados. In Year 7 the crown was taken by Frank B with a sudden death win against Messi O.- the winning word being ‘accelerometer’ from their Computer Science Knowledge Organiser. In Year 8 Lily T managed a perfect score, beating off competition from Mylu SJ. Finally in Year 9, Sam F stole the show with the winning word ‘acquiesce’, with Amelie A the closest competitor. The winners and runners up have been invited to partake in a Hounslow-wide competition in July and we can’t wait to see their spelling prowess on an even bigger stage!
