A Conversation with Louis Theroux

On Tuesday 12th November, the Sixth Form was very proud to host ‘A Conversation with (the legendary) Louis Theroux'.  What an amazing event it was; the hall was packed full of eager students – and staff – and Louis did not disappoint.

Louis was greeted in reception by two Year 12 students who claimed to be his number one fans. He obliged with a raft of selfies before making his way to a cosy interview in the hall with the Sixth Form team and excited students. Ten quick-fire questions, including a personal insight into Louis Theroux - the family man - broke the ice, which culminated in Louis’ joke: ‘What is brown and sticky?’…’A stick!’

Gravitas was restored with excellent questions from dynamic students who really put Louis through his paces with 20 questions, including:

Do you have creative control over your documentaries and articles or do you have a producer or editor who steers you in one direction or another?

What is the biggest misconception people have about you?

You have interviewed a lot of controversial and even dangerous people, is there anyone you wouldn’t want to interview?

Do you believe in ‘Truth’? Are you searching for 'The Truth'?

Louis Theroux discussed his documentaries, career path, political and environmental issues for a full 50 minutes and would have stayed longer had it not been for a book signing event in Tottenham Court Rd, followed by a flight to Holland!

It was an incredible event which gave the students an insight into journalism and documentary-making and is the first of several ‘Aim High’ and ‘You can be anything you want to be’ sessions run by Chiswick Sixth Form.
