Year 7 PGL Trip

On 30th September, 135 year 7 students made their way to the PGL site at Marchants Hill, excited and raring to go. Narrowly avoiding a downpour, students were launched into their first set of exhilarating activities whether it be dropping 30ft on the giant swing, zooming down the zip wire or climbing up to the highest point on Jacob’s Ladder! Undeterred from the rain that followed, it was fantastic to see students working together to make it through obstacle courses where the ‘floor was lava!’ and build their own rafts to go on the lake. The goal was to try and stay out of the water, but this definitely can’t be said of everyone, especially some of our staff!

The whole aim of the trip was to get students to bond in their new form groups and this was done with great success. I found myself regularly speaking with students who I thought had known each other for years, only to find out that they had just become friends that day! It allowed students to make excellent bonds with each other and gave them memories that will last a lifetime.

It was a pleasure to oversee the trip and to get to know all the students much better, so thank you to all the parents that supported it. I can only apologise for all the muddy washing we caused on our return home!
