YEAR 13 PROGRESSION
Year 13 is an important year for our students and the final results they secure are life changing.
One of our main goals in the Sixth Form is to secure for all students positive progression destinations be they university places, training courses or employment placements. The educational landscape is forever shifting; it is very important that our students get their career and university choices ‘right first time’ and receive as much support as they need to take their first steps in the world of higher education or employment. We take progression very seriously at Chiswick School. Tutors and the central Sixth Form team are highly experienced in the UCAS application process and we run a full programme of employment and higher education awareness activities alongside the curriculum which include:
- University visits
- UCAS Convention
- Oxbridge Conferences
- University Applications Evening
- Academic mentoring with external providers e.g. Imperial College
- University Application tutorials
- Student Finance Assemblies
- CV, interview and work skills workshops
- National Apprenticeships Week Activities
- National Careers Week Activities
- Visits to Jobs and Apprenticeships Fairs
The Sixth Form team works closely with the school Careers Advisor to support progression and Sixth Form students are encouraged to use the services of the School Careers Centre.
By applying themselves academically and working with staff to ensure applications are of the highest standard, Chiswick students enjoy great success.
