Music at Chiswick
Chiswick has a thriving music scene and there is something to offer for everyone.
In this section you can find all the information relating to music groups that we offer, instrumental lessons, scholarship and details of how to book our musicians for external events.
Please click on the following link to view our Music Development Plan.
See our weekly rehearsal schedule here.
We offer individual lessons in all standard string, woodwind, brass, keyboard and percussion instruments, as well as singing. You can sign up for lessons here.
Every year we reserve 10 places out of our 240 to students who show the most musical potential and qualify for pupil premium funding. These places are offered regardless of distance from home to school, which is the main criteria for the other 230 places.
Please fill out this form by 12pm on Friday 9th October 2026. The assessment day for qualifying students is from 10-12pm on Tuesday 13 October 2026.
This means that in Year 6 your child must meet the following criteria to apply for one of these places:
- Your child qualifies for Pupil Premium Funding (can be confirmed with primary school)
OR
- Either or both parents regular members of HM Forces and designated as personal category 1 or 2 (PStat Cat 1 or 2), in the armed forces of another nation and stationed in England or in receipt of a child pension from the Ministry of Defence
OR
- Your child ceased to be looked after by the local authority because of adoption, a special guardianship order, a child arrangements order or a residence order.
OR
- Your child is a looked-after child (LAC) i.e. in the care of, or provided with accommodation by an English local authority
All of our performances are open to parents and the public, with most free of charge. Click here for all upcoming dates.
Chiswick Community Choir is Chiswick School's Choir for parents, staff, and local community members who enjoy singing.
Formed in February 2024, the choir made its debut performance of Faure's Requiem with Hounslow Symphony Orchestra and Chiswick Voices (our school senior choir).
It's made up of all sorts of people. Some who are very seasoned singers, and others who only remember vaguely singing when they were at school. Everyone is welcome, so long as you're willing to put some work in and try something new.
Project based rehearsals rather than weekly rehearsals
One of the main features of the choir is that it isn't weekly, but rather there are a few intensive rehearsals before a concert. Music and recordings of parts are messaged out many months in advance, and so members are expected to prepare in their own time, allowing you to prepare when your schedule allows. In short: Fewer, more intense rehearsals, but with a higher expectation of preparation.
Sign up here if you would like to join the CCC general mailing list (this does not compel you to join in with a project)
