Year 9 Students Take Part in Verizon Changemaker Challenge

On 20 January, a group of 30 Year 9 students took part in the Verizon Changemaker Challenge, a full-day entrepreneurial skills and careers workshop delivered by Unloc, in partnership with Verizon Business.

Across the day, students worked in teams to design innovative solutions to real-life challenges linked to Verizon’s corporate social responsibility priorities. Supported by experienced facilitators from Unloc, students developed their ideas through structured activities focused on problem-solving, teamwork, creativity and communication. The day culminated in teams pitching their solutions, building confidence in public speaking and presenting to an audience.

The Changemaker Challenge gave students valuable insight into entrepreneurship and future career pathways, while helping them to develop transferable skills such as resilience, collaboration and critical thinking. It was an engaging and challenging experience that encouraged students to think ambitiously about the impact they can have in the world of work and beyond.

We are grateful to Unloc for delivering the programme and for providing our students with such an inspiring introduction to enterprise and careers.
