Students were first introduced to Humanutopia in Year 8 through the full day “Who Am I” programme. This year, they took part in the follow-up “Who I Am Now” day, an opportunity to reflect on their past, explore the experiences that have shaped who they are today, and openly share the challenges they have faced. The session encouraged students to look ahead with resilience, make positive changes in their lives, and aspire to a bigger and brighter future by considering and pursuing their dreams.
The workshop also reinforced our school’s anti-bullying strategy, promoting the importance of celebrating each other’s differences, treating one another with respect, and helping to ensure that Chiswick School remains a safe and supportive environment for all.
Throughout the workshop, students continued to build their empathy, confidence, and communication skills. We were incredibly proud of how many stepped outside their comfort zones to share personal stories in front of all their peers.
This year, our Year 10s have also been invited to join the Heroes Journey, a student-led mentoring programme. Participants will receive a full day of training in January before becoming peer mentors to Year 8 students in the spring term. Applications have now closed, and we are delighted by the enthusiasm and high number of students eager to take part.
