Mrs Ellener Represents Chiswick School at Parliament Reception Celebrating Women in Industry

Mrs Ellener was delighted to attend the Ada Lovelace Day breakfast reception, an event dedicated to addressing the continued under-representation of women within the manufacturing sector. Held at the Houses of Parliament, the reception featured an address from the Minister for Skills and Women and Equalities, Jacqui Smith, whose insight and eloquence were particularly noteworthy.

The morning was especially distinguished by the contributions of two remarkable young women, Faith and Alexia. Both are forging impressive careers through apprenticeship pathways, and their achievements provided a compelling reminder of the transformative power of opportunity and encouragement. Their testimonies prompted Mrs Ellener to reflect on how influential such voices might have been during her own teenage years.

At Chiswick School, Mrs Ellener and her colleagues remain committed to ensuring that pupils encounter a broad and diverse range of role models from across business, science, technology, history, politics, and other fields. These encounters play an essential role in helping young people imagine the futures they might pursue. The school warmly welcomes connections with individuals and organisations who can support this mission and contribute to the enrichment of its pupils’ aspirations.

Chiswick School is fortunate to have many exceptional female teachers within its community, alongside hundreds of girls studying mathematics, science, computer science, and technology. Their ambition, curiosity, and determination are a source of immense pride, and the school looks forward to all that they will accomplish in the years ahead.

The school extends its thanks to Lloyds Banking Group and the Manufacturing Technology Centre for supporting this inspiring event and for kindly inviting Mrs Ellener to attend.
