Year 10 Take on Speak Out Challenge

On Wednesday 24th September, all of Year 10 took part in the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge, a full-day event dedicated to developing confidence, communication, and public speaking skills.

Led by a Speakers Trust trainer, the workshops introduced students to a variety of techniques and tools used by professional speakers. Throughout the day, pupils were encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, practise their delivery, and refine their listening skills through interactive activities and group discussions.

The day concluded with each student delivering their own speech in front of their class—a powerful opportunity to showcase their voice, ideas, and growing self-belief. Every participant received a certificate recognising their effort and courage.

It was an inspiring day and a memorable experience for all, leaving students better equipped to speak out with confidence and clarity.
