- Year 9 Trip to France
On a cold but bright March morning, 47 Year 9s set sail for France. As soon as we reached Calais, we headed straight to La Boulangerie d’Escoeuilles for our bread- making lesson with Bruno, le boulanger. He taught us completely in French, including making us do French maths, and then let us taste his delicious pains au chocolat.
We stayed in a French manor house for the night and some of us tried snails at dinner time! The countryside around the house was beautiful, and we had fun sitting round the campfire, singing and toasting marshmallows. Miam miam!
The next day saw us exploring Boulogne-sur-Mer and walking on the old city walls. We also spent hours in a terrific sea life centre called Nausicaa. Sitting and watching the sea creatures in the huge tanks was like being in the best cinema ever!
In our two days in France, we saw lots and did lots. Many thanks to the PTA for supporting the trip - on s’est très bien amusés!!!
