Picture Perfect: Year 10 at the National Portrait Gallery

During Year 10, current GCSE art students had the opportunity to work with professional photographers from the National Portrait Gallery, developing skills and techniques through workshops held in both the school and at the gallery.

As part of the collaboration our students then took their own photographs of someone within the community that was important to them. Alongside the photographers, students were able to plan the clothing, props and location of the sitter. We had students photograph teachers, friends and family within the community.

Many of our students' photographs were then selected to be exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery. This was a valuable experience for both the sitters and the student photographers.
