PE & School Sport Highlights

Cricket Club

It's been a great year for cricket club, with strong links to Chiswick Cricket Club, whose nets we've used on multiple occasions to support training. Unfortunately, all cricket fixtures this term were cancelled due to the extreme heat, a frustrating but necessary call for player safety.

Athletics Club

Athletics Club has been a huge hit this year, with over 50 students attending each session. That enthusiasm translated straight into results: our teams took part in Super 8s and Quad Kids, with both our Year 8 and Year 10 teams winning their competitions outright, and several other year groups finishing as runners-up. At Borough level, almost 30 students across all age groups were selected to represent the borough at the Middlesex Championships. Competing against very strong opposition, a special mention goes to Kaspar, who ran a superb 1500m final and was in contention for a podium finish right until the closing stretch. Fantastic effort from everyone who competed.

Flag Bearers at Lord's

A wonderful honour for the school, two of our Year 10 Paxton students, Caitlin U and Demi C, were selected as flag bearers for the opening ceremony of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Finals at Lord's, in front of a global television audience. Their selection came off the back of their performances for Chiswick Cricket Club's Women's team through a highly competitive county season against Surrey opposition. A brilliant, rare honour and richly deserved recognition of their hard work and dedication to the sport, we wish them every success as they continue their cricketing journeys.

National Hockey Success

Congratulations to Céline, who represented South Saxons at a National hockey tournament in Nottingham this term, a fantastic achievement, and one of only a handful of pathways towards England Hockey. Céline's side battled all the way to the final, a brilliant reflection of the hard work she's put in to get there. Well done, Céline, we're all hugely proud of you.

London Youth Games success Congratulations to Grace and Ella, who were both selected to represent Hounslow at the London Youth Games. Grace competed in the aquathon (swim followed by a run), while Ella competed across two swimming relays and the 50m backstroke individual event, earning a well- deserved silver medal.

Primary Schools Sports Days Our Year 8 Sports Leaders were once again brilliant ambassadors for the school, with 30 students volunteering to help run sports day events for Cavendish, Strand Juniors and Infants, Grove Park, and William Hogarth. All four schools praised how well our students represented the school and embodied its ethos, a real credit to them.
