- Empowering Students Through Mental Healt...
This week, we were delighted to welcome Jamie Karl Coupe, a Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Specialist, to deliver engaging one-hour workshops for our Year 10 and Year 12 students.
Drawing on both his professional experience and his own personal story, Jamie encouraged students to have open and honest conversations about mental health, resilience and the importance of asking for help. The sessions explored practical ways to look after wellbeing, build positive relationships, support friends who may be struggling and recognise that no one has to face challenges alone.
Students were also introduced to Jamie's free wellbeing app, the 10 Pillars Test. The app encourages young people to complete a daily check-in by rating themselves across ten different areas of wellbeing. This helps students identify areas where they are doing well, recognise where they may need additional support and build positive habits over time.
We are pleased to be welcoming Jamie back in September to deliver further workshops with additional year groups. He will also be hosting a parent seminar, offering families the opportunity to learn more about the themes covered in school and how they can continue these important conversations at home. Please look out for further details at the start of the new academic year.
