Globe Players Bring An Inspector Calls to Life

On 24 April, our Year 11 students were treated to a gripping live performance of An Inspector Calls by the talented Globe Players theatre company, performed right here in our school hall.

With the English Literature Paper 2 exam just a month away, the timing could not have been better. Seeing the Birling family’s downfall performed live allowed students to visualise the staging and dramatic tension in a way that classroom reading alone simply cannot replicate.

Our students were an exemplary audience, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Students agreed that the cast delivered powerful performances which captured the play’s intense social message, and many commented on how helpful the experience was in deepening their understanding of the characters’ motivations ahead of their upcoming exams. We even had a keen student volunteer take part by delivering the Inspector’s final monologue — word perfect!

This enriching experience was made possible through the incredible generosity of the PTA, who kindly funded the entire visit. We are extremely grateful for their continued support in providing opportunities that truly enhance our students’ learning and confidence.
