Sixth Form Students Attend UCAS and Apprenticeship Fair

This term, our Year 12 students attended the UCAS and Apprenticeship Exhibition at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre as a whole year group. The trip provided students with an invaluable opportunity to begin exploring their post-18 pathways and thinking carefully about their future aspirations.

Throughout the day, students engaged with representatives from a wide range of universities, higher education providers, apprenticeship organisations, and national employers. They gathered information about university courses, entry requirements, student life, degree apprenticeships, career pathways, and application processes. Students also had the opportunity to ask thoughtful and purposeful questions about subjects they may wish to study in the future, as well as the skills and experiences employers are looking for in applicants.

The exhibition featured many prestigious universities and leading employers, giving students direct access to expert advice and guidance to support them as they begin preparing for UCAS applications, personal statements, and future career decisions. Many students also attended seminars and talks throughout the day, focusing on topics such as student finance, apprenticeships, competitive applications, and choosing the right course or career pathway.

The trip was an excellent opportunity for students to broaden their horizons, gain confidence in speaking with professionals, and begin reflecting seriously on their ambitions beyond Sixth Form.
