Students from Chiswick School achieved incredible success at the recent Dragons’ Den competition, competing against 11 schools and over 20 businesses. One team, Celestial Flow, were crowned overall winners for their inspiring social enterprise focused on reducing period poverty and increasing awareness around periods, particularly for primary school pupils.
The students created an educational comic featuring animated characters to help young people understand periods, challenge stigma, and encourage a more inclusive and supportive environment. They also organised a bake sale to raise funds for their comic and prototype “Celestial Flow Care Packages”, which aim to provide free essential menstrual products to those who may not otherwise have access to them.
Another Chiswick School team, MindMatch, won the award for Best Branding for their innovative social enterprise promoting mental health awareness through sport and community engagement. Their idea involves organising weekly football tournaments alongside guest speaker seminars focused on mindset, mental health, and life skills. The business also aims to create employment opportunities for sixth form students by supporting them in gaining referee qualifications and experience.
Judges praised the students for their professionalism, creativity, and commitment to creating businesses with genuine social impact.
A special thank you goes to Jenny Rayment and the Social Enterprise Academy for organising such a wonderful event and for supporting and guiding our students throughout the entire process. The experience provided our students with an invaluable opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills, confidence, and social awareness.
