4 Feb | We Survived January 2.0

No Refund, still licking their wounds from their Year 10 exams, celebrated the arrival of February at the Duck and Ball with many of their classics. We also said goodbye to Flo, who has been a fantastic member of the band since its inception in March 2023.

5 Feb | Deadset (with High Voltage)

Deadset, supported by High Voltage, made their full debut gig at the George and Devonshire, complete with their now-iconic bow ties and party hats. Catch up here.

7 Feb | Level A

Level A returned to the George and Dragon with their extremely tight classics and an ‘energetic’ fan following.

11 Feb | Battle of the Bands

Sixteen bands took part in a high-octane evening of rock, pop, metal and original music. After a highly competitive event, the judges chose Year 9 band Cronos for their flawless rendition of You Give Love a Bad Name.

Congratulations also to runners-up Soulcage; 3rd place No Refund; Highly Commended (Technical) Deadset; Highly Commended (Stage Presence) After Hours; and outstanding individuals Markos and Vanya.

12 Feb

Performed for our Chinese Exchange students as part of their closing ceremony at Chiswick.

22 Feb | Chiswick A Cappella

Delivered their full set, complete with new microphones, at Chiswick Food Market—now one of the newest Sunday markets, with an excellent variety of food.

25 Feb | Chiswick A Cappella

Performed at the Hounslow Community Youth Event and may or may not have enjoyed the very nice canapés provided.

26 Feb | Dawn

Returned to the City Barge for one final gig, featuring solos from Tom and friends. The best headbanging band Chiswick has ever had.

5 March | Training Wind & Strings Concert

An under-appreciated jewel in the calendar, this concert featured 30 Year 7 and 8 wind, brass and string players showcasing their progress—including many performing for the first time. Corey and Freddie also delivered mesmerising piano solos. Catch up here.

8 March | Joint Concert with Nonesuch Orchestra

After a series of workshops, our Chamber Orchestra joined students from Twyford, West London Free, Ada Lovelace and Ealing Fields for a concert of new compositions, including pieces by our own Yushua and Mojtaba. See this article here.

11 March | Smalls Jam Night

Markos’s new “come-and-play” jam night made its debut. With no set plan, students simply turned up and made music together in a relaxed, low-stakes setting. We’re looking forward to more.

12 March | Junior Choir Spring Concert

Our Junior Choir presented their first full show of the year, featuring musical theatre, folk songs, ballads and Disney/Pixar classics. Soloists included Cleo, Sarah, Nia, Delilah, Gigi, James and Lily—some performing solo for the very first time. Catch up here.

14 March | No Refund

Performed at the Brentham Club, a full music venue with a great technical setup. As the headline act, they even earned an encore, supported by Uncle Dynamite.

17 March | Deadset & High Voltage

Returned to the George and Devonshire for another evening of party hats and all-original music.

21 March | Carmina Burana

Over 600 people joined us in the Sports Hall for an unforgettable evening featuring Chiswick Voices, Chiswick Community Choir, Junior Choir, choirs from West London Free School and Fulham Boys, and the Hounslow Symphony Orchestra conducted by Dorian Dimitrov.

The first half featured Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1, performed by Krzysztof Moskalewicz on a full concert grand. The second half brought Carmina Burana—a powerful collection of medieval texts exploring fortune (O Fortuna), spring (Ecce Gratum), drinking (In Taberna) and love (Amor Volat Undique).

It is an incredibly demanding work, but all 150 singers gave it their all and were rewarded with a standing ovation. Until next year…
