Students recently took part in a Fix-a-Bike Workshop, an engaging and practical session run by Community Cycleworks designed to develop both life skills and confidence.
During the workshop, students learned how to carry out basic bicycle maintenance, including repairing punctures, adjusting brakes, and checking that their bikes are safe to ride. The hands- on nature of the session meant that students were able to practise these skills themselves, building independence and problem-solving abilities.
The workshop also highlighted the importance of sustainable travel, encouraging students to consider cycling as a healthy and environmentally friendly way to get around.
It was fantastic to see students so actively involved, working collaboratively and taking pride in developing new, practical skills. We would like to thank the workshop leaders from Community Cycleworks for delivering such an informative and engaging session.
