World Book Day

On Thursday 5th March, we celebrated World Book Day here at Chiswick School. World Book Day is an annual celebration of authors, illustrators, books, and the joy of reading. This year’s theme was “Go All In”, as part of the National Year of Reading 2026, encouraging students to reconnect with reading through the things that inspire them—from playlists to football matches.

As part of the celebrations, Year 7 students were invited to dress up as their favourite book characters, while students in Years 8 to 10 were encouraged to bring in an accessory representing a favourite book or character. In addition, the library hosted a range of competitions, all students received book vouchers, and Key Stage 3 classes took part in a special World Book Day lesson. During this lesson, students discussed their favourite books and read the opening chapter of an engaging mystery novel. It was a fantastic day that celebrated a shared love of reading across the school!
