Despite challenging weather conditions leading to the postponement of many fixtures and clubs, we have still seen some excellent performances from our students across a range of sports.
The Year 7 Boys’ football team continued their strong form with impressive wins against Isleworth and Syon, while the Year 10 Boys also secured victories against the same opponents. The year 8 boys beat Ruislip High School in their cup game convincingly. The Year 11 Boys recorded a great win against Greenford High School and now progress to the semi-finals, where they will face Heathlands this week. Good luck to the team as they look to reach the final.
The U14 and U13 girls’ teams have both exited their respective cup competitions following hard-fought matches against very strong opposition. Both games were closely contested throughout, with the teams showing great determination, resilience, and teamwork. Despite narrow defeats, the performances were extremely positive and a real credit to the players involved.
This week and next week we have a busy schedule of netball and basketball fixtures, involving teams from Year 7 through to Seniors. We are hoping to continue the strong unbeaten winning streaks in Year 8 and Senior netball, while also making positive progress in the leagues across all other year groups.
Away from competition, a group of Year 10 Sports Leaders represented the school superbly on a trip to referee the Middlesex Primary School Girls’ Football Tournament, gaining valuable officiating and leadership experience.
We also took 50 students from Years 7, 8, and 9, all of whom have represented the school in football this year, on a trip to the Gtech Community Stadium to watch Corinthians FC Women vs Gotham FC Women, providing inspiration and exposure to elite- level football.
Looking ahead, we also have students competing in the Middlesex Badminton Competition and the Middlesex Cross Country Competition. We wish all involved the very best of luck as they represent the school.
Finally, our new Indoor Cricket Club has got off to a great start. The girls’ session on Mondays and boys’ session on Thursdays are growing in numbers each week, and it’s fantastic to see such enthusiasm for a new sport.
