Year 11 Languages for All Launch Event at Royal Holloway

A group of Year 11s visited Royal Holloway University of London on 15th January as their first event with the Languages for All pathway. Languages for All brings together top linguists across the borough of Hounslow to explore how languages can shape future careers and further study. The programme encourages students to develop their passion for languages beyond the classroom and provides focused support for their A level studies.

As well as visiting the university campus, the day included inspiring talks in a lecture hall on the many doors that languages can open, highlighting the value of linguistic skills in a wide range of professions. Students also took part in small-group language lessons in a language they do not currently study, giving them a taste of learning something new and challenging.

During the day, students met current undergraduates and spoke with university staff who have built successful, language-related careers. They asked thoughtful and insightful questions, gaining valuable first-hand knowledge about university life and future pathways.

It was an inspiring and motivating day for everyone involved, setting a strong foundation for future activities and continued success in languages.
