Celebrating Success: Brilliant Club Graduation at Oriel College, Oxford

On 4th February, our 14-strong Autumn term cohort for the Brilliant Club travelled to Oriel College, Oxford, for their graduation ceremony. Students reflected on their achievement - writing a 2000 word essay based on their topic of 'Disease Detectives'. The cohort learned about infectious agents and the diseases they cause, alongside key methods of prevention and treatments.

At Oxford, students had a campus tour - made even more special by the fact that it was Oriel’s 700th anniversary just a few days before. We enjoyed learning about the history of the college and speaking to current students about their experience and how to get to university. Three of our students, Majid, Fadi and Basty also volunteered as Spoke Scholars, and presented very professionally to two other schools on their experience in the programme.

A big congratulations to all the students involved, we look forward to seeing how they use their analytical and essay writing skills going forward, and hope they can be emulated by this term’s cohort - who have just begun studying the importance of music to American culture.
