DECEMBER CAR BOOT SALE
An ENORMOUS thanks to ALL the parents, carers, teachers and students who helped at the December car boot sale. It was a really tough sale, with rain, wind, and the field unusable! Despite the difficult conditions, our resilient volunteers worked their magic in the cold and wet, to raise invaluable funds for our students and the school. The sale still raised a fantastic £3300!
Every single Car Boot Sale takes over 300 volunteer hours - from preparation of the school site, online advertising, replying to queries, numbering flyers, sorting the float, moving goals, putting up banners, to the on the day work: managing the queue, parking the cars, taking payment on the gate, managing the office and the finances, and then of course the clear up…
There are now over 175 current parents who regularly volunteer for the car boot sales and for events, in addition to alumni parents, which is outstanding.

REFRESHMENT BARS: CAROLS AROUND THE TREE, STEEL PANS CHRISTMAS SHOW AND JOSEPH
Thank you so much to the PTA volunteers who supported the refreshment bars for the December events: Carols By Candlelight at St Nicholas Church, Steel Pans Christmas Show, and the Performing Arts production of Joseph. They were really well attended and raised almost £1000 between them!
UNIFORM SALE TEAM!
We are actively seeking helpers to support the planning, sorting and selling of pre-loved uniform. We now have a large pile ready to organise, and are keen to have additional support to facilitate more frequent sales. If you can help, please ping us an email: pta@chiswickschool.org.
FESTIVE SHOEBOXES
At the end of November, we collaborated with fabulous local charity Timegivers to put together festive gift boxes for local families. The PTA, students, staff, Chiswick alumni and our wider local community came together to collect, buy and package up gifts for local children and teenagers. In addition to countless bags of gift donations, an incredible £1340 was raised through our just giving page, which was used to buy gifts, from stationery items, vouchers, toiletries, books and toys. We were delighted to host this community partnership event in memory of baby Rocco, whose mum, Samya (Class of 2000), and godmother, Claudia (Class of 1999) met at Chiswick School thirty years ago, and became great friends on the (ever popular) Chiswick Ski Trip.
Here is a message from Claudia to explain a little more…
“As you know, we are partnering with the wonderful charity Timegivers for a heart-warming community event. Our mission? To fill festive shoeboxes with gifts, bringing light and happiness to local children who might otherwise go without. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a direct difference in our local community and the event is especially poignant as we hold it in the loving memory of baby Rocco, who is my godson and whose mum went to Chiswick School. Every year since he died at this time of year, we do something positive for him and from him. We want to honour his memory by spreading the warmth, joy and love he brought into the world. Thank you for helping us to keep Rocco's little light shining brightly
