Music Highlights

December | Junior Choir were scheduled to go carolling at Chiswick Business Park, but due to some “administrative complications” (Mr Moxon getting the wrong date!), we instead enjoyed a lovely trip to the Co-op.

December | Carols by Candlelight returned for the third year running, featuring traditional carols from Chiswick Voices, Junior Choir, and Cavendish Choir, alongside readings from students, staff and parents. We also bid a fond farewell to Fr Simon, who has been a great friend of the school for many years and retires in January.

December | Cronos, Deadset and Markos all performed at Grove Park’s PTA Christmas Fair, including a first-ever performance by Deadset — Chiswick’s only band dedicated exclusively to original songs, who we very much hope to see more of in 2026. Thanks also to Chiswick parent Boris Pomroy, who, while also Grove Park’s PTA Chair, doubled up as Chiswick’s roadie-in-chief for the day.

December | The Steel Band Christmas Show took place again for the third year running. This year, a mammoth four different bands showcased everything they’ve been learning this term, from Deck the Halls to Billie Jean. Many thanks to Mr Dubois for his tireless work in making Chiswick a true steel band empire. Catch up here.

December | Our new eight-part A Cappella Group performed their first gig at St Vincent’s Care Home, courtesy of TimeGivers. It was a very lively audience indeed, and we hope to return soon.

December | Dawn and No Refund returned to the Duck and Ball for a Christmas bash, featuring many of both bands’ classic songs alongside some festive favourites.

December | Ms Alanamu delivered a music industry careers workshop for Year 9 and Year 10 students. Many thanks to the M7 Education charity for sponsoring the event, and to professionals from Sony Music and Foske Talent Agency for sharing their expertise.

December | The A Cappella Group had a second outing, this time at Grove Park Primary, performing a mix of pop and Christmas favourites. There was even a Q&A at the end, during which a Year 4 pupil asked our sopranos: “How do you sing that high???”

December | The Refreshers teamed up with Skye and Sophie and four Year 7 bands — Ilegal, Horizon, After Hours and Sorry Not Sorry — for an end-of-term Christmas bash at the City Barge, drowning their sorrows after a busy term with Lime Sodas and J20s.

December | Level A, depending on publication time, either performed at the George and Dragon or will be performing there shortly. It was either a huge success or promises to be one, which they either organised entirely themselves — or are currently in the process of doing so.
