Year 7 Roman Battle

The highly anticipated Roman Battle took place after school on Friday 12 December. Red and gold shields were meticulously created both at home and during a special session of the History Club so every Year 7 student had the opportunity to participate. Clad in his armour, sword aloft, the fearless Mr McLoughlin appointed Ms Herbert and Mrs Irvine, History Club organisers, as Generals of Y side and X side respectively.

Marching ensued, as did Mr McLoughlin's various calls for battle formations. Each side performed admirably with great motivation and courage... but when the dust settled and our lungs were spent, and when Mr Gill and his colleagues had concluded their rigorous deliberations, X side emerged victorious!
