2 November | Chiswick Voices sang a service of Choral Contemplation jointly with Somerville College Choir from the University of Oxford, featuring music ranging from Purcell to the Beatles. After the performance, one of our students remarked: “Sir, the person I was sitting next to was so cool. She wasn’t posh or stuck up—she spoke my lingo. And she was soooo good at singing!”
We look forward to returning again in November 2027 for more choral singing—and, of course, the world’s best Sunday roast. Catch up here.
13 November | Junior Recital Evening
19 of our KS3 students did themselves incredibly proud by signing up to perform a solo in front of a supportive audience in C15.
We began at 6pm with our Year 7 performers: Penny, Lara, Delilah, Gigi, Corey, Isaac, Miles, Micah, and Rafa.
This was followed by our Year 8 and 9 recital, featuring Chloe, Alba, Willow, Tom, James R, James T, Tali, Freya, Noa, Haru, and Roxy.
A huge well done to all the students involved—they showcased wonderful courage, talent, and musicality. Catch up here
18 November | Victoria, Emily and Mojtaba hosted a beautiful recital evening.
Emily (watch here) opened the programme with her Grade 8 recital set, performing Fauré’s Élégie with its piercing lyricism, followed by Bach’s well-known G Major Prelude, and concluding with Saint-Saëns’ fiery Allegro Appassionato.
Mojtaba (watch here) then took to the stage with the evocative Persian piece Khazan, performed on his own Tar. His recital showcased an impressive range of quarter-tones, intricate picking patterns and expressive phrasing unique to the instrument.
Victoria (watch here) closed the evening with a stunning vocal set, including two Italian arias, a German Lied by Schumann, Warlock’s Sleep, and Gershwin’s ever-popular “Summertime” from Porgy and Bess.
22 November | Cronos had a Chiswick first by playing at the Bentham Club, a sports and community club that does evenings for new and upcoming bands.
24 November | Amelia did her third solo show at the George and Devonshire, together with Jessie, Matilda, Markos and friends. These Year 10s just love to gig!
26 November | Cronos felt that they hadn’t had enough performance opportunities lately so did a full solo show at the City Barge.
27 November | Parental Guidance did their first solo show at the George and Devonshire with a night of French pop and Modern Jazz.
29 November | Penny and Dylan performed to our friends at St Nicholas’ Church for their patronal festival with a mix of Christmas and pop classics. It’s great to see a new generation of solo artists emerging.
