- Chiswick School Alumni Shine at Bush Hal...
On Tuesday 4th November, three recent alumni of Chiswick School – Harry R, Zion P, and Henry B – took to the stage at the renowned Bush Hall as part of the Emerging Talent Musical Showcase, hosted by Gaudium Events.
From several hundred applicants, only eleven acts were selected to perform. Remarkably, two of these acts were formed of musicians whose talents were cultivated at Chiswick School, with all three performers having begun their musical journeys in school bands.
Harry and Henry first performed together in The Q, a band formed by teacher Zac Moxon when they were in Year 8. Since then, both have developed their musicianship considerably, achieving top grades in GCSE Music and securing places at leading music colleges. Today, Henry and Zion study full time at the Rhythm Studio, while Harry continues his training at the Brit School.
Zion began playing the drums only two years ago, initially to take part in a school band, The Musketeers, alongside Harry. Henry later formed the rock band Uncle Dynamite with two Year 11 students, going on to win the Hounslow Battle of the Bands. After leaving Chiswick School, Henry continued the band with Zion on drums and a new bass player from the Rhythm Studio.
Tuesday evening’s performance saw Henry and Zion present a full set of original rock music with Uncle Dynamite, featuring songs written entirely by Henry. Harry performed separately, accompanied by fellow Brit School musicians, showcasing his own original material blending blues, pop, and rock influences. His set included All That You Are Is Enough, a piece composed for a school friend during his time at Chiswick.
Bush Hall, a venue that has welcomed renowned artists including Adele, R.E.M., Kings of Leon and Amy Winehouse, added another milestone to its history by hosting these promising musicians from Chiswick School.
