19 July | Chiswick Voices sang a solo evensong at St George’s Windsor Castle. Sadly even the sneakiest of sneaky parents weren't able to get a snap of us performing, but that made the memories even more special as we sang music spanning 500 years of choral history in one of the UK’s most beautiful buildings.
20 July | Our fourth School Album was finally released after many weeks of hard work by our recording engineer Barry Penks. Check it out here.
24 September | Dawn and Thirteen went to the City Barge, featuring solo debuts from Marcel and Penny, who we certainly hope to see more of in the future. Catch up here.
25 September | We were treated to a seminar by staff from Waterbear College of Music who gave us a snippet into music college life and also cool tote bags.
2 October | Social Mobility Awards - We enjoyed a night out at the Hilton to celebrate the Chiswick’s Shortlisting as UK School of the Year, in recognition of our unique scholarship system. Fellow finalists included Microsoft, Lloyds Bank, and Nandos. Regrettably, efforts to convince the latter company to open a branch in Chiswick School were unsuccessful.
3 October | The Y9 Steel Band did a gig at Hounslow Council to celebrate Black History Month.
6 October | Hallos Eve - Markos, Vanya, Orlando, Jago, Sam, and Ben took over the school for a night of metal and other shenanigans. Catch up here.
9 October | Britpop Night - Laden with 90s football shirts, bucket hats and questionable wigs, we had our debut show for our year 7 bands - After Hours, Horizon, and Sorry Not Sorry, and also saw return appearances from Carnage, No Refund, Markos and Skye. Catch up here.
10 October | Our sixth formers had a visiting lecture from Tim Watts, fellow of St John’s Cambridge, on writing for string orchestras.
10 October | Rotem had his farewell show at the George and Devonshire featuring Uncle Dynamite and other friends from his time at Chiswick. All the best, Rotem, you’ve been a once-in-a- generation bassist.
11 October | Dawn did a 25 minute set for a party at The Gunnersbury on the West End of Chiswick High Road. They follow in the footsteps of The Who and Thin Lizzy to perform on that stage, though those two bands were never great at headbanging.
15 October | Invasion did their second full show at the City Barge, with classics such as Crazy Train and Sweet Child O’Mine. They were supported by The Eclipse, now featuring Flo B and Maia M who is certainty now under the category of ‘one to watch’.
17 October | Level A did their second full show, this time at the Gunnersbury, to a bumper crowd of 6th formers as they drowned their sorrows (in J20) before their November mocks.
