Boys Football

Boys’ football at Chiswick has started with fantastic numbers across all year groups. The clubs, delivered by a combination of professional coaches and our dedicated PE staff, have provided an excellent environment for students to develop their skills, teamwork, and understanding of the game.

Training sessions have been full of energy, with Years 7 and 8 training on Tuesdays and Years 9 and 10 on Thursdays with the year 11s and seniors training taking place on a Friday. Each year group has been entered into the English Schools Cup, Middlesex Schools Cup, and Hounslow League, meaning plenty of opportunities for competitive fixtures throughout the season. The standard of football and commitment from students has been excellent, and it’s been great to see their hard work reflected in their performances.

The Year 7 team have made a promising start to their Chiswick football journey. After receiving a bye in the first round, they faced a strong and well-drilled Fulham Boys side in the second round of the English Schools Cup. Despite a tough result, the team showed great spirit and effort throughout. They now look ahead to their Middlesex Cup first-round tie against Vyners, followed by a league fixture versus The Green School to round off the half term.

Our Year 8 boys have shown fantastic enthusiasm and teamwork this term. After receiving two byes in the Middlesex Cup, they will travel away to Ruislip next half term in what promises to be an exciting match. They also have a competitive English Schools Cup fixture against All Saints, and plenty of league games lined up after half term and into the new year. The team are looking sharper with every session, and there’s a real sense of momentum building.

The Year 9 team have faced tough opposition early in the season, losing to a strong Isleworth side in the first round of the Middlesex Cup before narrowly missing out against Uxbridge in the English Schools Cup. Despite these results, performances have improved week by week, with the boys showing resilience and determination. There are several league fixtures on the horizon, providing the perfect opportunity to turn those performances into results.

It’s been a positive term for the Year 10 boys, who have shown excellent progress and teamwork. They produced a dominant display against Greenford High to secure a win in the Middlesex Cup, bouncing back superbly after a narrow loss to Christ’s the week before. With a cup run ahead and more league games booked after half term, the squad will be looking to continue their strong form and push for further success.

For the first time in several years, our Year 11 boys have entered both the English Schools and Middlesex Cups and it’s already paying off. They started superbly, recording a commanding victory over Twyford in the Middlesex Cup, showing real quality and teamwork throughout. Their next challenge is a competitive English Schools Cup tie against Grey Court, and the team will be eager to keep their winning momentum going.

Our senior squad have started the season in stunning fashion, recording a 10–0 win over Bishopshalt in their opening cup fixture. The team showed their experience and attacking flair throughout, and confidence is high ahead of a local derby in the next round. It’s an exciting time for Chiswick football at senior level, with plenty of promise for the remainder of the season.

Girls Football

Girls’ football at Chiswick has continued to grow in popularity this term, with fantastic numbers attending every Wednesday training session. The atmosphere has been brilliant, with students from all year groups working hard, improving their skills, and showing real enthusiasm for the game. Sessions are led by a combination of professional coaches and PE staff, giving students the chance to learn from experienced mentors while developing their fitness, teamwork, and confidence.

Each team has been entered into the English Schools Cup, Middlesex Schools Cup, and Hounslow League, giving every year group plenty of opportunities to represent the school competitively. The commitment and performances so far have been outstanding, with several teams already achieving excellent results.

The Year 7 girls have made an impressive start to football at Chiswick, training with energy and enthusiasm every week. Their first Middlesex Cup fixture is coming up on Friday 17th against Claremont, and they also have an exciting English Schools Cup tie versus Latymer next week. It’s been fantastic to see so many new players developing their skills and confidence so quickly — a bright future ahead for this team!

Our Year 8 girls have shown real promise this term, working hard in training and showing strong team spirit. They faced a tough St George’s side in the English Schools Cup, narrowly losing 3–1 after a competitive and determined performance. Their Middlesex Cup fixture against Rivers will take place after half term, and the team are eager to bounce back with a positive result.

The Year 9 team have been one of the standout sides this term, combining skill, teamwork, and attacking flair. They produced a stunning 9–1 win over Greenford in the Middlesex Cup, showing dominance and confidence throughout. In the English Schools Cup, they reached the second round before being defeated by Grey Court, where their performances didn't reflect the result.

Our Year 10 girls have been in superb form this term, showing maturity, composure, and a real cutting edge in front of goal. They progressed to the third round of the English Schools Cup after a brilliant 6–2 away win over St Bernard’s, and also advanced in the Middlesex Cup after being awarded a walkover win against Oakwood. The squad’s progress has been outstanding, and they’ll be looking to continue their impressive run after half term.

It’s been a fantastic term for the Year 11 girls, who have led by example with their commitment and quality. They advanced in the Middlesex Cup with a walkover win against Haydon, and are preparing for an exciting English Schools Cup fixture against Ibstock Place next week. The team’s strong start and positive mindset have set the tone for what could be a very successful season.

Netball Club

Netball has seen fantastic commitment across all year groups. Our Year 7 and 8 teams have been training hard every Tuesday, building confidence, teamwork, and game awareness, while our Year 9, 10, and Senior players have been putting in great performances during their Thursday sessions. The progress in skill level and understanding of the game has been brilliant to see, and the enthusiasm and team spirit on court each week have been outstanding. We have already seen some success in the league with the year 10 team beating Lampton in the first match of the season. There are plenty more games to come throughout the year for the remaining year groups.

Cross Country

The Interform Cross Country took place on Monday 13th October, with over 30 enthusiastic students taking part. The top two runners from each year group earned the opportunity to represent Chiswick at the Borough Cross Country event on Wednesday 15th October at Osterley Park. Our students were outstanding on the day, securing three first-place finishes, one second place, and several impressive top 10 finishes. In total, seven Chiswick students have now qualified to represent Hounslow at the London Youth Games and Middlesex Cross Country Championships, an incredible achievement! A huge well done to everyone who took part. You should all be extremely proud of your efforts and the way you represented the school with such determination and spirit.

Basketball Club

Basketball Club has been a huge hit this term, with great numbers turning up every Friday from all year groups. The sessions have been packed with energy, teamwork, and skill development from shooting and passing drills to fast-paced games. Students have shown real progress in their technique and game understanding, and there’s a real buzz around the upcoming fixtures for all years. Exciting times ahead for Chiswick basketball!

Gymnastics Club

Our Gymnastics Club has been full of energy this term, with students mastering new routines and building confidence in their flexibility, balance, and coordination. Every session has challenged students to push their limits while having plenty of fun along the way. The club takes place in the side hall every Thursday.

Boxing Club

The Boxing Club has proved incredibly popular, giving students a great outlet to develop discipline, focus, and fitness. Under expert guidance, participants have learned the fundamentals of footwork, technique, and conditioning. The club takes place every Monday.

Fitness Club

Fitness Club has seen fantastic commitment from students. Each week has brought new challenges from cardio training to strength work, helping everyone make real progress toward their personal fitness goals in a motivating group environment. KS4 fitness club takes place on a Wednesday and KS3 fitness club takes place on a Friday.

Table Tennis Club

Impressive skills have been on display in Table Tennis Club this term. Students have honed their techniques and enjoyed plenty of friendly competition. The enthusiasm and sportsmanship shown by players at all levels have been brilliant to see. Table tennis takes place every Friday in the side hall.

Badminton Club

Badminton Club has gone from strength to strength this term, with great attendance and even greater improvement. Students have developed their knowledge, shot selection and technique in a lively and enjoyable atmosphere every session. This club takes place every Wednesday in the sports hall.

Rowing Club

Rowing Club has made a fantastic return this term, attracting a great mix of students from complete beginners learning the basics of rowing technique, to experienced rowers eager to push themselves towards competition. The sessions have focused on developing strength, timing, and teamwork both on the water and the rowing machines. It’s been brilliant to see the enthusiasm from all involved.

Former Student Success – Matilda S

We’re incredibly proud of former Chiswick student Matilda S, who was selected to represent Scotland at the Netball World Youth Cup. This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of Matilda’s hard work, dedication, and passion for the sport. During her time at Chiswick, Matilda was a key member of our netball teams, showing outstanding skill, leadership, and commitment — qualities that have clearly continued to shine at the next level. Everyone at Chiswick School is thrilled to see her success and we wish her the very best as she continues her netball journey with Scotland.
