Year 12 Pupils Support Elderly Lunch at the Brompton Oratory

Six of our Year 12 students — Nasheed A, Rianna X, Giulia V, Shiruk M N, Azra C, and Poppy T — recently had the wonderful opportunity to volunteer with the Timegivers Charity at the Brompton Oratory. The event was a special lunch for elderly members of the local community, designed to combat loneliness and bring people together through shared conversation, food, and music.

During the afternoon, our students helped in a variety of ways: serving meals, setting up the dining area, and ensuring that each guest felt welcomed and cared for. They also took part in a lively singing session, joining the elderly guests in songs and creating a joyful, inclusive atmosphere. The smiles and laughter throughout the room were a clear sign of the positive impact of their efforts.

This experience not only gave our students a chance to contribute to their community but also offered them valuable lessons in empathy, teamwork, and leadership. By spending time with older members of society, they helped to brighten the day for people who might otherwise feel isolated.

We are incredibly proud of Nasheed, Rianna, Giulia, Shiruk, Azra, and Poppy for their generosity, enthusiasm, and dedication to making a real difference. Their contribution is a wonderful example of how small acts of kindness can have a big impact on our local community.
