Music Highlights

Friday 4 June | Level A did their first solo show at the Duck and Ball. Apparently, as soon as Mr Moxon left, the quality drastically increased… catch up here

Sunday 8 June | Uncle Dynamite played on the Green Days Stage at the Bedford Park Festival with more all-original rock music.

Tuesday 10 June | No Refund returned to the Duck and Ball, where we bid a fond farewell to Markos on guitar. Luckily, the No Refund HR department is first-class—we also welcomed Jake on guitar, who had already supported with Frio. Catch up here

Friday 13 June | We were honoured to be visited by Rob Burton, former finalist of BBC Young Musician, who gave a saxophone masterclass to some of our students. Catch up here

Saturday 14 June | The Year 8 Steel Band played at St John’s Church Fair in Kingston and had many older members of the church on their feet dancing for their whole set.

Tuesday 17 June | At the Ensembles Concert, we were treated to two mini-concerts from the Training Strings, Training Wind Band, Concert Band, and Chamber Orchestra. Particular shout-out to Marcel, who may have stolen the show with his rendition of Can You Feel the Love Tonight. Watch the Junior concert here, and the Senior concert here

Wednesday 18 June | Some of our Year 11s visited Konk Studios (founded by The Kinks!) to record backing vocals for a new single by Chiswick alumnus Primo Kincaird-Baker.

Tuesday 24 June | Harry returned to the Duck and Ball for an evening of originals and old favourites, celebrating with the Year 11s as they finished their exams.

Tuesday 24 June | Hounslow Battle of the Bands—now in its 4th year—was emphatically won by Uncle Dynamite. They performed two high-octane originals and were tighter than any school band you’ll ever see. They now get to record a single at the studios of London College of Music.

Wednesday 25 June | Open Mic Night featured lots of exciting debuts from students in Years 7–8, hosted by our good friends at the City Barge. Catch up here

Saturday 28 June | At the Ark Priory Summer Fair, we had Dawn, Carnage, and a funky new composite blues band perform for one of our ever-growing feeder schools in Acton.

Saturday 28 June | Thirteen performed an entirely independent solo set at Holy Family Primary School in Ealing.

Saturday 28 June | Cronos returned to our favourite West London street party at Grove Park Terrace, raising funds for Grove Park Primary School.

Saturday 28 June | Cronos and No Refund played at a charity fashion show—with some unforgettable parental dancing to close the night.

Wednesday 2 July | PTA Summer Festival—this year we had two stages and an acoustic lounge, and a big final singalong of Dancing Queen for Ms Mills. Huge thanks to the PTA and all departments for another brilliant community celebration.

Friday 4 July | Year 11 Graduation/Independence Day gig, hosted by Harry and Uncle Dynamite, with support from Parental Guidance, to mark their final assembly and prom.

Saturday 5 July | Uncle Dynamite, fresh off their Battle of the Bands victory, performed more all-original rock at Cavendish Primary.

Saturday 5 July | Markos played a solo set at his alma mater, William Hogarth Primary School.

Saturday 5 July | No Refund played a set at Grove Park Primary School, with Jake doing his first show as solo guitarist.

Saturday 5 July | Concierto de Aranjuez—we bid a very emotional farewell to one of the most gifted young classical guitarists of his generation. Youssef spent three months learning one of the most difficult guitar concertos in the repertory—and pulled it off with jaw-dropping flair. Catch up here

Wednesday 9 July | Montage of Heck—Zion had his farewell gig at Chiswick with a night of rock and funk. We wish him all the best as he heads to the Rhythm Studio next year.

Friday 11 July | Arts Awards—we celebrated achievements in Music, Dance, Drama and Performing Arts, while also (tearfully) saying goodbye to our leavers.

Monday 14 July | Chiswick Voices gave their Summer Concert, blending traditional choral music with Michael Jackson, Don McLean, Billy Joel and the Beach Boys.

Tuesday 15 July | Junior Choir returned to Christ Church, Turnham Green, to perform at their lunchtime meeting.

Wednesday 16 July | Harry Robinson bowed out of Chiswick School (as a student!) with a performance featuring highlights from his time here, before he heads to the Brit School sixth form in September.

Saturday 19 July | Chiswick Voices perform their first-ever solo evensong at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle—a true testament to their incredible work this year.
