Year 7 Explore Tudor Life at Hampton Court Festival

Year 7 students had a fantastic experience in June at Hampton Court Palace, taking part in a vibrant Tudor festival.

They were immersed in the sights and sounds of the Renaissance, meeting historical characters who interacted with them in role and exploring a wide range of period crafts. These were led by artisans using authentic Renaissance techniques, giving students a hands-on sense of life in Tudor England.

They learned about life on Henry VIII’s progress, practised jousting skills, and even watched a Renaissance play. After the festival, students explored the palace itself, visiting highlights such as the Great Hall, the chapel, and Henry VIII’s personal apartments.

It was a rich and exciting day out that deepened their understanding of Renaissance culture and gave them new insight into life under the Tudor monarchy.

Thank you to the PTA for their support with this trip.
