Annual Amnesty Youth Group Meeting
There was a big turnout for our inaugural meeting of the school’s Amnesty youth group. We were fortunate to have a second visit to the school from Fiona Anderson, a former BBC journalist and Campaigner for Human Rights. She arrived very well equipped with stickers, badges and a fair trade football she donated to the school. The pupils were full of ideas on how we could fundraise and were keen to support refugees and people around the world who are denied their human rights in one way or another. There was an enormous amount of enthusiasm and interest in the room so we are looking forward to many more meetings and action over the coming months. The PSCHE department were glad to have got the group up and running as it is something they have wanted to do for a long time.
