Sports Update

This is a busy month for the PE department as we prepare for the final matches in our Hounslow football and netball leagues. We are also delighted to be competing in the latter stages of three Middlesex Cup football competitions- U14 boys and girls and U15 girls. We wish those teams the best of luck in their quarter final matches.

We also have seven students competing in the Middlesex cross country finals at the end of January and wish them all the best in their races.

We are continuing with our rowing clubs which take place on the Thames and we were delighted to receive some funding from the Chiswick Rowing Trustees. This has allowed us to purchase a new rowing boat which will be unveiled in due course.

We are really glad to see the start of a Year 7 fencing club. This has been a brilliant opportunity for the students to learn a new sport and we have had some really encouraging feedback from the coach who has been particularly impressed with the students’ willingness to be resilient and learn new skills.

The Year 9 netball team were successful in winning the borough competition, beating all their opponents and being crowned Hounslow Borough champions.

The PE department would like to continue to encourage your child to attend our extensive enrichment clubs which happen every day in a full range of sports.
