Year 7 students have had a fantastic start to the year which was particularly showcased during our recent student elections. After the assembly on Friday about student voice, there was a real buzz about who was going to run and what policies they would be pitching in their manifestos. In one class, we had fifteen students that wanted to compete for the seat on the council, which is over half of the class! I had the pleasure of sitting in on some of the speeches during form time and I think we might have some future politicians in our midst! Students spoke with clarity, flair and passion, and the voting was very close indeed. Good luck to all the students that have run this year; I can't wait to see what ideas you come up with next!
