Our Sport program is designed to foster a love of sport and fitness, while promoting teamwork, resilience, and personal growth.

Every student has the opportunity to get involved at a competitive or recreational level. High levels of participation in all sports is important to us and we want all students to stay active, and achieve their personal best - whether through team sports, individual challenges, or leadership opportunities.

Our programme aims to inspire students to lead active, healthy lives both inside and outside of school.

Competition

We compete against schools in the borough of Hounslow leagues as well as Middlesex and national cups. The school has recently been very successful in football winning multiple county cups, often winning against well resourced, independent sector schools. We have 40+ teams across all key stages and 10 different sports.

Facilities

Chiswick School has some of the best sporting facilities amongst local schools. These include basketball, netball and badminton courts, cricket nets, a 300m grass running track, a strength and conditioning suite and large playing fields for competitive fixtures.

Football

We are extremely fortunate to be supported by Brentford football club and Skills School  who train our boys and girls across all the year groups .

Rugby

Chiswick Rugby trains girls and boys within the curriculum and in extra curricular clubs and offer weekend playing opportunities at their club.

Boxing

We have an experienced boxing coach who teaches the basics of boxing to all year groups.

Swimming

All of our Year 7 students will have 6 hours of swimming each year delivered by specialist swimming coaches located at Chiswick New Pool.  This will range from learning to swim to advanced swimming lessons.

Netball

We have experienced qualified netball coaches who deliver training twice a week to all year groups.

Hockey

Hockey is a recent addition to the curriculum. This is being delivered by highly qualified coaches using the local hockey pitches.

Specialist Coaching

We are extremely fortunate to be able to draw on specialist, external coaches to further train and develop our students. Please click on the specialist coaching link for further information.

We have built a number of relationships with specialists in their sporting fields. These experts use their experience and skills, built up over many years of practice, to stretch and support our sports programme.

High flying sporting success from Chiswick School

Pic2We are delighted to announce the sporting achievements of two Chiswick School students. Perdy S in Year 7 recently competed at the British Taekwondo National Championships where she was crowned National Champion in the Advanced category. Perdy is a member of the local  ‘Ilyeo’ Taekwondo club and also a British Taekwondo National squad member. A number of other Chiswick School students also attend the local club; two of whom won a gold and silver medal in the B class competition.

Image2We are also proud to announce that Isla in Year 8 represented Great Britain in the World Acrobatic Championships in Guimaraes, Portugal in September. Isla was discovered in one of RGA’s recreational classes at Grena Road before moving to the Acrobatics squad ‘Richmond Gymnastics’ at the age of seven.

These are fantastic achievements for the school, the clubs and community. We are extremely proud to be nurturing such talent.
