Transition from primary school

Prior to starting in September, please take time to learn all about us so that you know what to expect when you arrive at Chiswick School. We have covered many areas which we feel are important and will be adding more all the time – so please check back regularly.

Just in case there is anything you cannot find the answer to or if you would like more information about a current section, please send us a message via our contact us page and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We hope that you and your Parents or Carers will find this website very useful and we are looking forward to seeing you very soon. Please find below our Transition booklet which contains lots of useful information about Chiswick School.  You can also view our frequently asked questions transition webpage for further details.

Year 7 Induction Booklet

Unfortunately, this year our induction day for pupils and parents alike is virtual. We are preparing lots of resources to help you get a feel of the school and meet some key members of the team including myself and Mr Gill, your Head of Year / learning Coordinator.

To ease the transition to secondary school we have a "Buddy" scheme whereby older students help look after our new intake. Year 8 Buddies spend time in Year 7 Form groups and play areas and some students will be mentored by trained Year 10 and Year 12 mentors.

How to Purchase School Uniform

Despite the announcement for 19 July, we plan to continue with present Government guidance to maintain strict limits on the number of people in the store at one time, social distancing of 1m while inside and request customers to continue with face masks. Effectively it’s a “closed door policy”, with an online appointments system for parents/carers wishing to visit the store.

Hence, it is vital we (a) outline the ways parents/carers can obtain uniform and PE kit; and (b) convey the need to do it early. There are 2 ways they can kit out their child: -

Purchasing Online: sanco.co.uk

Parents/carers can order from our website 24/7. To do so, please share the following link with all new and existing parents/carers, which takes them directly to the Chiswick School page on our website: -

Visiting the Store

Alternatively, to visit the store they need to make an appointment. For this, please share the following link with all new and existing parents/carers, through which they can book a fitting appointment: -

http://www.sanco.co.uk/page/book-appointment/

The appointments are for 20 minutes. Our booking policy is on the website and gives parents all the details they need to visit us safely and seamlessly. Parents with appointments will be let in to the store at their scheduled time. Anyone without an appointment will be asked to queue and we will only be able to serve them if our maximum numbers permit, in between parents who do have an appointment.
