Year 11 end of year letter

I am writing to inform you of the arrangements regarding the year 11 final exams and study leave. The exam period begins the week commencing Tuesday 8th May and runs up until Monday 25th June. The year 11 students will be required to be in school up until half term (Friday 1st June) for lessons and exams. Please see the attached timetable for further details. Lessons during this period will be mainly focussed on revision and exam preparation.
On Friday 1st June all year 11 students will be dismissed for study leave and will only be required to come in for their scheduled exams. Obviously, they should spend the time away from school preparing for their remaining exams with which I wish them all the very best of luck. Students have all been issued with exam timetables and revision planners which they should use to help them prepare thoroughly for their exams (a copy of the exam timetable can also be found on the school website).
There will be revision sessions at 8am for exams starting in the morning and students will be provided with a free breakfast if they attend these. There will also be revision sessions at 12.30 for exams starting in the afternoon. Some subject teachers may run additional revision sessions after half term which they will let students know the arrangements for closer to the time.
Students should always arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of their exam to allow enough time for entry into the exam venue. Students must wear full school uniform for all exams, failure to do so will mean they are delayed at the start of the exam while alternative provisions are made. Students must also ensure they have all the necessary equipment for the exam and that this equipment is kept in a see through pencil case. Students are allowed to bring water into the exam venues but this must be in a see through plastic bottle with all the labels removed. Mobile phones and other electronic devices must be turned off and handed to an invigilator prior to the start of the exam.
Year 11 will have their leavers’ assembly, traditionally a celebration of the student’s time at Chiswick on Thursday 5th July. I would very much appreciate parent’s/guardian’s help with this. If you have any embarrassing baby photos or photos/video of your son/daughter from Year 7 or 8 {first day at school etc} I would really like to use them in the assembly! Please send them/bring them into school or email them to me at the address below. Your contributions will really help to make the occasion memorable.
Students still have the opportunity to purchase a year book as a lasting memory of their time at Chiswick; these cost £18 for a hard back copy which must be received in full ASAP. The following day Friday 6th July will be the Year 11 prom at Richmond Hill Hotel which will be the final goodbye to the year group; tickets for this cost £30 and include food and drink. The £10 deposit for this must also be received ASAP.
