Strike action on Wednesday 28th March

Posted: 26/03/12

Dear Parents/Carers,

You may already be aware that the NUT are planning a day of strike action for next Wednesday 28th March in relation to changes to public sector pensions.

With the majority of our teaching staff in the NUT, I regret to inform you that I am unable to safely open the school for students in Years 7 to 10.  Students in these year groups should stay at home next Wednesday.

We are planning a half day for our Year 11 students; this will be facilitated by outside speakers who will run sessions to assist student planning for the upcoming exams.  It is important that all Year 11 students are in school on Wednesday until 12.30 pm.

Year 12 and 13 lessons will be scheduled as normal for teachers not taking part in strike action.  We will advise students on this early next week.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Mr A Ryan

Headteacher
