Update - Microloan Foundation''s Guinness world record attempt, 9th and 10th JulyPosted: 7/07/11
Well – let it not be said that we did not at least try! It turns out sticking pennies onto tape takes a lot longer than everyone thought and despite almost 500 people turning up over the course of the weekend to help; our 7.2 miles or almost £5,000 of pennies was some way short of the record which remains in Kansas. Our attempt put the School in the news and at the heart of our community with press coverage received from 5Live, Sky Radio, Virgin Radio, Magic, BBC London, Hayes FM, The News of the World (final copy) and in the Hounslow Chronicle! And of course The Microloan foundation raised over £40,000 over the weekend through sponsorship, this will be used to improve the life chances of thousands of families in Africa.
Thanks to all our students and of course parents who came in to assist before, during and after the event.
